Excel Utility Construction was established in 1989 after the business reorganization of Excel Construction & Equipment Inc. and the sale of the gravel operation east of Port Angeles. The principle, Bill Roberds, has had many years of experience in communications infrastructure construction with Pacific NW Bell, and acquired a general contract with US West in the early 1980’s. That portion of the business was reorganized as Excel Utility Construction.
Excel Utility Construction still maintains this contract on a three-year basis and has responsibility for all construction and maintenance for Qwest communications on the Olympic Peninsula, west of the Hood Canal bridge. Excel also does construction work for Wave Broadband and other commercial customers requiring infrastructure construction. We also specialize in trenchless utility installation, including cable plowing, boring and tunneling. Excel employs 12 people with a wide variety of skill levels including design and engineering services for the telecommunications industry.
Bill Roberds is a board member and past president of the North Peninsula Building Association, chairman of the Port of Port Angeles boat haven advisory committee, Past Commodore of the Port Angeles Yacht club, Port Angeles Rotary club, and coaching assistant with the High School sailing team. He also enjoys sailboat racing, scuba diving and all things Porsche.
Excel Utility partners include CPI, a local fiber optic network and Angeles Communications for all your business telecommunication needs.
